Title: Thinking of grabbing an old H2 for weekend desert fun

Thinking of grabbing an old H2 for weekend desert fun, what should I be terrified of looking at?

Alright so I've got this idea in my head that I want a Hummer H2 just for messing around on the weekends and maybe taking the kids camping when it cools down, I found a 2008 that looks pretty straight from the photos and the seller says it's mechanically sound but we all know that can mean anything from "runs great" to "the transfer case is made of gravel and hope" on these older trucks. I've been reading up on the common failure points and it seems like the air suspension and the 6.0 liter V8 oil consumption are the big ones but I'm honestly not sure I'd know what a failing steering component feels like since the steering on these things is vague by nature anyway. I was digging around to see if there's a shop that still knows these beasts well enough to do a proper inspection and I came across this page https://www.exoticautoservices.ae/hummer/hummer-pre-purchase-inspection-abu-dhbai/ (https://exoticautoservices.ae/hummer/hummer-pre-purchase-inspection-abu-dhbai/) which at least lists out what they look for which is more than I can say for the seller who just keeps telling me "bro it's a tank don't worry." Anyone on here still running an H2 around Abu Dhabi and have any sage advice on what will bankrupt me first, the fuel bill or the inevitable electrical gremlins? I just want to know what I'm signing up for before I hand over the cash and end up with a very large driveway ornament.
