Path of Exile 2 version 0.5 doesn't just toss a few shiny outfits into the shop and call it a day. It opens the wardrobe doors much wider. Armour sets with very different moods
The armour sets are the big draw, and there's plenty of variety rather than one repeated template with a new colour slapped on. Atlantis gives off a clear oceanic feel, while Arctic Crystal looks sharper and colder, almost like the character has been carved out of frozen glass. Imperial Eagle is heavier, cleaner, and more military in shape. Wild goes the other way, with a rougher, primal look that suits players who don't want polished metal everywhere. Supporter Pack sets add another layer, with Assassin, Chimera, Cursed, Doomguard, Eclipse, Eyrie, and Seeker all bringing their own flavour. Fire and Ice, tied to the Mystery Box, will probably be the one people chase if they like split-element fashion. Darkprism, Malachai, and Void Emperor also stand out because they don't feel shy. They're made for players who want their build to look dangerous before it even attacks.
Back pieces do a lot of the heavy lifting
Back attachments, cloaks, and wings may be secondary slots on paper, but in practice they change the whole outline of a character. Wings are still going to be popular, no surprise there. Lightbringer Cloak and Wings has that clean heroic look, Sunprism pushes into a brighter, almost solar style, and Sin Cloak and Wings suits players who prefer something darker on screen. Cloak fans get good options too, such as Corsair, Midnight Pact, and Verdant. What's nice is that not everything comes from the same place. Azurite is linked to challenges, Spider has a Halloween angle, and items like Empyrean and Pitfighter sit with Supporter Packs. That mix gives cosmetics a bit of history. You can often tell where someone was, what they supported, or what event they cared about.
Small slots still matter
The helmet and attachment additions are quieter, but they'll matter to players who like mixing sets instead of wearing a full outfit straight from the box. A Black and White Hood can tone down an otherwise loud armour set. A Scavenger Hood fits rougher exile looks. Wild Cougar Helmet is more specific, but that's exactly why some players will love it. Crest attachments such as Swan and Aquila also help finish a look without forcing a full redesign. Then there are the character effects and stranger extras. Originator's and Awakener's effects give you that constant aura around the body. Chest effects like Something Fishy, Trapped Wasp, and Not the Bees! add a bit of humour, which PoE cosmetics honestly need now and then. The Anchor Drop rare finisher and Torture Mace round things out with more combat-facing flair.
Cosmetics feel better when they work cleanly
The smaller system changes are easy to miss, but they're the sort of things players notice after a few hours. Bronze and Silver Marionette skins now hide base armour, so the visual theme doesn't get muddied by pieces underneath. Tracking updates for the Pilfering Ring and Tracking Scroll of Crafting should make those items clearer to use, while the Tracking Scroll of Headhunting now covers more bosses. That's practical, not flashy, but it matters.
